TD Summer Reading Club

The TD Summer Reading Club is Canada’s biggest summer reading program for children of all ages, interests and abilities. This free Club is offered at more than 2,000 public libraries across Canada, as well as online. The Club celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories, and inspires kids to explore the fun of reading in their own way.

When your child registers for the TD Summer Reading Club, they will receive a free notebook and stickers to track their reading, a team button for our window race, and a web access code. Visit tdsummerreadingclub.ca for fun games and activities and to use your access code.

We hope you find reading rewarding in itself, but to give you a little extra incentive, you will also have a chance to win prizes! All you have to do is track your reading and then tell us about it.

How to Register

You must register for the TD Summer Reading Club in person at the Readers' Advisory Desk located on the first floor.

Tell Us What You're Reading

Using your TD Summer Reading Club notebook, record what you've been reading. Visit the Readers' Advisory desk each week from July 2 to August 14, and tell the library staff at the desk what you've been reading. You'll then be entered into a draw for the weekly prize. Children can receive a ballot once a week for our weekly prizes. Children's ballots will also go towards the draw for the end of the summer prizes, which will be given away at our Summer Party on August 15!

There are seven weeks of summer programs: so, if you tell us what you've been reading once a week, you'll be entered into the end of the summer prizes 7 times!

Window Race

It's a race to the finish! When you sign up for the Summer Reading Club, you will be given a button indicating your team element. Each week when you tell us what you're reading, you will be given a picture of your element to tape onto the window race track in the Children's Area. You can receive one picture per day. This will help your team get further in the race! This race is a fun way to encourage children to keep reading.

2021 Window Race

Are you a teen aged 13+? Check out our Teen Summer Reading Challenge! Find all the details here.

Select all of the events you would like to register for. Submit one form for each child. Please note the age range for each event. Summer Reading Club materials can be picked up from the Reader's Advisory desk on the 1st floor.
