Teen Banned Bookclub

For our January meeting, we will be discussing All Boys Aren't Blue by George M. Johnson. In 2021, All Boys Aren't Blue was named one of the top 10 teen titles of 2021 by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) of the American Library Association (ALA). In the same year, the book was targeted with attempts to ban the book, along with other titles, in public libraries and schools around the country. Critics have accused this book of being "criminally sexual."

Ages 13-17. The Banned Book Club meets once a month on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the Children's Program Room on the first floor. This is a drop-in program. Please contact cys@bellevillelibrary.ca for inquiries into this program.
