Fee Based Research

Our fee-based research service is intended for out-of-town researchers working on genealogy or local history, who are not able to come to the library to do their own research.

How much is the fee?

The fee is $30.00 (Canadian) per hour, or $15.00 (Canadian) for 1/2 hour, payable in advance. This covers the cost of staff time, some copying, postage & handling, and HST.

How can you pay?

Cheques or money orders must be in Canadian funds and should be made payable to “Belleville Public Library” and mailed to:

Belleville Public Library, 254 Pinnacle Street, Belleville, Ontario K8N 3B1, Canada

Payment of the fee is nonrefundable and does not guarantee that we will be able to find the requested information in our sources. If you wish to use our fee-based research service, please send your payment by regular mail with a letter outlining your request.

If your research requires less than 15 minutes of staff time we generally provide the research free of charge.  Please inquire with details about your research request and we will let you know the approximate amount of time required and the total cost.
