Belleville Public Library is pleased to welcome author Richard Pyves for a book talk on Sat. Nov. 3 at 11:00 am. In honour of the 100^th anniversary of the World War I armistice, Mr. Pyves will be discussing his book Courage, Sacrifice and Betrayal. In this book, Pyves outlines the lives of the soldiers of the 60^th Battalion, one of only four Canadian WWI battalions broken up due to political rivalries among the provinces after the Battle of Vimy Ridge. In his talk Mr. Pyves will be covering why and how he came to write the book, its significance, and some basic facts about the Canadian military during WWI.  No registration is required for this free event, books will be available for purchase.
